HRH Princess Caroline

These are the two princess dresses that we got for Caroline from Norway and Sweden. The red velvet one is from the Cathedral of Trondheim in Norway and the other is a princess wedding dress from the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden. She loved them both and immediately tried them on when we gave them to her.

Day 11: Norway Again

After Stockholm, we left during the wedding crazy us! Bless our hearts we tried to stay which is another story in its self. . . and flew back to Oslo on SAS Airlines had a two hour lay over there and then back to Trondheim, Norway. We stayed the night in Trondheim on Saturday night and had a very early flight at 6 AM from Trondheim to Amsterdam via KLM and then we had a 5 hour lay over in Amsterdam where we would again fly KLM to Atlanta. Well since we had called Orbitz to JUST inquire about changing our flights so we could stay for Princess Victoria and Daniel's wedding, Orbitz without our knowledge cancelled all of our flights. Robert had a bad feeling at 3Am Sunday morning and woke up and checked our itinerary with Delta and it said Canceled on everything. We totally freaked out. He called Orbitz back, and they supposedly put us back on our flights. It starts to get crazier from here. Anyway we showed up at the KLM counter and they say they don't have our names in the computer, and to go to the Delta counter. Trondheim is about the size of Augusta with about two flights out a day, and we knew if we missed this flight we would probably be in Norway for another night. And to top this off the Delta counter said all the flights that day were full. To make a long story short, a wonderful woman at the Delta ticket counter in Norway got us on that flight because two people did not show up. Two other people had even been bumped from the flight before that. It was a crazy day. . . a day from hell! Nevertheless we both made it home thanks to Mary and another nice man in Amsterdam who managed to get us on another Delta flight. We will never use Orbitz again!

Sweden: Days 8-10

Our days in Sweden were the best of the trip for me. Stockholm is a beautiful city; one of my all time favorite that I have ever visited. Of course the wedding of the Crown Princess Victoria to Daniel Westling helped to make the trip extremely exciting, and was indeed the chance of a lifetime, even though the planning and timing was completely unintentional. We happened to see Victoria twice in one day as well as Daniel Westling. . .in person. . .it was very exciting. We were very amazed at the casualness of the monarchy in Sweden and how the people are towards it. It was very cool! And very unlike England and their monarchy. We were at the royal palace trying to buy tickets and up drives a Mercedes and a few police cars and out walks Queen Sylvia of Sweden and Princess Victoria to walk into the church; Robert and I were standing just a few feet a way. This would never have happened in England the times I have been there. You would never have been allowed in that close proximity to their royals. Other than being a part of the paparazzi across from The Grand Hotel watching the other Royal wedding guests get into their cars, we also saw the Crown Prince of Norway and his family get into their cars! We visited the Vasa Museum and mainly walked around Stockholm enjoying the wedding festivities that were going on. It was great! The theme in Sweden this summer is the Summer of Love. . . :)
